So it's December at last. This year has been a long and rocky one but oddly enough it seems to have sped up in the last few weeks.
There is much to do with the holidays barreling around the corner. With all the chaos, I don't know about you but I find setting aside time for painting difficult. I've completed a couple of new experimental works - trying my hand at new perceptions. I'm not sure I like it yet but I'll post some and feel free to give feedback. I hope to carve out some time for the studio and I to spend some quality time together.
Friday, Dec. 9th is a special day for me...my 46th Birthday. Woo hoo! :) It seems odd to say that for some reason but I'll be glad to be 46. It surely beats the alternative. lol
I was perked up when we checked the mail today. I received the notification card about possibly being a participant in the Cary Lazy Daze festival next year. I'm not sure I'm ready for that but it is something to think about. Don't know about the crowds thing though. They bother me more than they used to. I also received my lastest art magazine and there are some competitions listed that I might try my hand at...it definitely won't hurt. Good experience I say.
I realize that I have sorely neglected my fellow art community groups. I let my VAE membership expire (but resolved that recently) and fell out of attending and being a member of the Cary Fine Arts League. I did get an email from the Durham Art Guild about joining. I feel that the more I can learn from so many talented folks the better. I'm just going to have to make the time to go to the meetings so I can soak up all the juicy energy and knowledge. :)
Well, hope you all have a lovely week (if for some reason I don't post again this week). I will be posting new work soon. Stay tuned.
~Peace
