Yes, it's true. I've been a total slacker lately in the art department. I put a canvas on my easel and one on my workbench and haven't touched it since. sigh...
I did pick up a cool book about things that I didn't know before. For instance, how to stretch my own canvas. This is something that I have wanted to learn for a while. I would still like to see it done in person before I dive into doing that for myself. There is sadly very little in the book about acrylics but it does give me a greater understanding of substrates and different priming techniques most of which are more geared towards oil painting. It's funny how so much is written for the oil, watercolor and pastel artist and less is available for the acrylic artist. Starting to feel like the red-headed stepchild. lol
I was hoping to hear if my paintings had sold at the VAE Auction and Gala. However she did tell me that if they didn't sell that they would call me to pick them up so I'm assuming that they sold. YAY. :)
I have another painting at the VAE now for the current open exhibition. I have to get in gear for the 'Unfettered' entry date. There are a couple of more but I have been decidedly lax in getting my butt organized enough to submit something.
How about you guys? Any new things happening for you? Trying anything you've not done before?
My husband has been looking at the zentangle stuff. Interesting since I have doodled like that for years.
Anyway...here is to hoping we all have a creative day!

I've gotta say that your blog banner is so very inspiring. Love it!! I wish I could say that I have attacked that canvas, but sigh...not just yet. Wishing you well Michelle.
ReplyDeleteHey Ophelia! Sorry I missed your session at Jerry's - I really wanted to go. I have to say that I too have been without any creative vision lately and that makes me sad. Guess I'm just in not so much a slump and more a nose-dive (grin). I'll keep checking Jerry's to see when you'll be there so we can catch up. :)
