It's quite nice this morning. The sun is shining and it's chilly. Ever so slight chance of flurries tomorrow. The kids are excited.
There is that quietness this morning that we don't always have. The birds are relatively quiet and there is no wind. There isn't much car noise today which is unusual as well. I'll take it. I'm really starting to appreciate quietude. I wasn't always that way, but I am now.
During those moments of silence I can begin picturing what I want to paint or at least what colors I would like to use. I don't really get images, more impressions and tones. It's actually quite cool.
I have a couple of 20x20 canvases ready in my studio. I have a larger one but for some reason I just know it is not the one I need to work on right now - so I'll go with my gut.
In the meantime I have floors to vacuum and mop, clothes to wash and dry, bathrooms and kitchen to clean and on and on and on. I'll try and use that time to figure out more of where I want to go with my large canvas. I just have to remind myself that if I don't like it I can always Gesso over it and start again.
