Good thing I checked

Dearest Art lovers, let me share something with you so that you may be aware of some shady practices.

As you may know I was contacted by an Art Gallery in NYC called Agora Gallery.  I've since discovered that they are what is termed a 'Vanity Gallery'.  They ask a large sum of money up front in an effort to 'market you, etc...'.  I understand that such places do indeed hang your work but rarely try to sell it and you are then not only out of money but those paintings are not available for you to sell in the interim.  So if you happen to be contacted by this Gallery be aware of this practice.  I am learning that legitimate Galleries frown upon these types of institutions.

Okay, so my ego-bubble was burst a bit. LOL Who wouldn't be excited about the prospect of showing their work in NYC? Guess it goes back to the old adage, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

Enough about that.

I'm now trying to turn my creative eyes to the new VAE exhibition submission on the 15th for the 'Unfettered' exhibit.  I have several ideas for it and now I just have to implement them.  I also have to call back a young woman from the Arts Council about possibly exhibiting works at the Wake County Commission Bldg. in the Fall.

We'll see.

I would like to hear of your creative endeavors.  Drop me a line and tell me all about them.

~Peace
