Busy, busy, busy

I find it incredibly funny that the nearer we get to something that we're looking forward to, the busier our life becomes.

For instance, if you are at work and you know you have a 2 week vacation coming up...the sky will land in your lap with a million and one things to take care of prior to leaving.  Life may have been moving along at a steady pace and then BAM!, things go crazy.

That is where I find myself now.  (Although I'm not complaining) All of a sudden things are picking up for me in the art arena. (YAY)  I'm really glad but part of me is like WOW, this is really happening.  Regardless of the sudden surge in activity, I'm very excited about it all.  It's now a matter of effective time management to get things done.

On another note, I was listening to NPR while running errands today.  Ironically, the Curator of the SECCA (Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art) in Winston-Salem was speaking about the museum.  The ironic part is that he is the person who is jurying the exhibition that I'm participating in next month.  It was really interesting not only to learn more about SECCA (check it out) but to also learn about his background and how he came to NC.  Just an interesting side note to my day. :)

Well, off to the studio now that I've gotten a good bit done in other areas.

Hope you do something that sparks your imagination today!

  2. Thanks for visiting my blog and for your kind words about my artwork, Michelle!

Sorry for the late response. We just returned from an out of state vacation last night and I'm trying to catch up on everything.

I took a quick peek through your posts and love your abstract artwork! I can see that we do have a lot in common. :)
